SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corp (FCFC) has been running its phenol-acetone plant in Mailiao at 80-85% capacity after it was restarted on 24 June following a brief shutdown, a company source said on Friday.

The plant, which has two lines with a combined 400,000 tonne/year capacity of phenol and 250,000 tonne/year capacity of acetone, was taken off line on June 20 because of an outage at its upstream crackers, the source said.

The plant was running at 85% capacity prior to the shutdown as FCFC cut the run rates in early June because of weak demand.
