SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) is currently running its 1.03m tonne/year No 2 cracker in Mailiao at 80% of capacity after restarting the unit on 30 June, a company official said on Monday.

“Operating rates at the No 2 cracker will be raised gradually to 100% capacity,” the source said.

The company’s 1.2 m tonne/year No 3 naphtha cracker, on the other hand, will be restarted slightly earlier on 10 July, from the previous schedule of 12 or 13 July, the source said.

The two crackers, along with other downstream plants operated by various groups within the Formosa group, were shut following a two-hour long power disruption at the Mailiao petrochemical complex on 20 June.
