SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Advanced Biochemical Thailand has postponed the ramping up of its 100,000 tonne/year epichlorohydrin (ECH) plant in Map Ta Phut to full operating rates by another two to three weeks due to technical issues, a company source said on Monday.

The plant, which was restarted on 31 May after an extended shutdown from 22 April to conduct maintenance checks, had been running at approximately 65%-70% of its nameplate capacity, the source said.

The company had initially planned to increase the operating rates to 100% by July.

Market participants said they expect a substantial increase in the ECH supply in the Asian region after the company runs its plant at full capacity.
