SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Xinjiang Markor Chemical has shut its 60,000 tonne/year butanediol (BDO) plant in northwestern Xinjiang province for maintenance, a company source said on Monday.

“The plant is shut down today [2 July] and we plan to restart the unit on 25 July,” the source added.

The company can ensure only the supply for its key customers during the shutdown, the source said.

The shutdown is a scheduled turnaround to do some some preparation work before the arrival of winter in Xinjiang, which usually starts in October, according to the source.
