HOUSTON (ICIS)--Westlake Chemical has restarted its Petro 1 Lake Charles cracker in Louisiana after a two-week outage, market sources said on Tuesday.

The company took the 544,000 tonne/year cracker down in the third week of June to fix a steam leak and complete other repairs.

A company spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request seeking confirmation of the restart.

Westlake has a second cracker in Lake Charles, Petro 2, with 699,000 tonnes/year of ethylene capacity.

That unit was off line in late May for about 10 days because of a compressor trip.
