SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s SP Chemical was forced to shut down its 50,000 tonnes/year of aniline unit at Taixing in Jiangsu because of some technical problems on 2 July, a company source said on Wednesday.

The shutdown is expected to last a week, the source added but did not give details about the nature of the problem.

The shutdown will have little impact on the aniline market because of the expected small scale of the production loss, traders said.
