SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s major adipic acid (ADA) producer Shandong Haili Chemical Industry shut down one of its three adipic acid (ADA) lines this week because of soft demand, a company source said on Wednesday.

“We have shut down one ADA line in early this week because of weak demand,” the source said.

The three ADA lines located in Zibo, eastern Shandong province, have a capacity of 75,000 tonnes/year each.

The other two ADA lines are running at 70-80% capacity.

The company has no definite restart date in mind and will wait for the market conditions to become favourable, the source added.
