Japan’s Kaneka to shut VCM plant in mid-July

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>Japan’s Kaneka Corp plans to shut its 400,000 tonne/year vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) plant at Takasago in the middle of July for a turnaround, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.
The maintenance will last for around two weeks, the source added.
Kaneka also operates a 290,000 tonne/year derivative polyvinyl chloride (PVC) facility at Takasago as well as a 175,000 tonne/year PVC unit at Kashima.By: Feliana Widjaja
