BASF to expand vinylformamide, polymerisation capacity in Germany

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--BASF plans to expand its vinylformamide (VFA) plant and polymerisation capacity in Ludwigshafen, Germany, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

The company did not disclose details on the plant's capacity and expansion.

BASF also plans to build a new polymerisation line for VFA in China, the statement said.

The new line will be located at Zhenjiang in Jiangsu province and will process feedstock from Ludwigshafen, according to the statement.

The total investment for the three actions will be in the three-digit million euro range and production is scheduled to start by the end of 2014, the company said without giving further details.
