Formosa BP Chemicals’ Taiwan acetic acid plant suffers outage

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Formosa BP Chemicals Corp’s 300,000 tonne/year acetic acid plant in Mailiao, Taiwan, is shut since early this week on unspecified causes, sources close to the company said on Thursday.

Minor repairs are being done at the plant, with resumption of operations expected within this week, they said. No other details were available.

Formosa BP Chemicals Corporation is a 50:50 joint venture between BP and Formosa Chemicals and Fibre Corporation (FCFC).
