China’s TSRC-UBE to shut down BR plant on 23 July

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s TSRC-UBE (Nantong) Chemical Industrial plans to shut down its 72,000 tonne/year butadiene rubber (BR) plant in Nantong at Jiangsu province on 23 July, a company source said on Friday.

“We will shut down the plant for about a month to carry out regular maintenance, and we plan to restart the plant on 22 August,” the source said.

TSRC-UBE (Nantong) Chemical, is a major BR producer in Jiangsu province.

It is a joint venture (JV) with Taiwan Synthetic Rubber Corp (TSRC) holding a 55% stake, Japanese firms' Ube Industries owning 25% and Marubeni holding 20% stake in the JV.
