HOUSTON (ICIS)--CB&I has won a contract for work on Enterprise Product’s planned propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit on the Texas Gulf coast, the US-based petrochemicals engineering firm said on Friday.
CB&I said that under the contract it will license its CATOFIN PDH process to the plant and it will provide basic engineering for the project. It did not disclose financial terms.
?xml:namespace>Enterprise announced the project last month. The plant will have a capacity of 750,000 tonnes/year of polymer grade propylene (PGP) and use 35,000 bbl/day of propane.
CB&I’s CEO, Philip Asherman, said that Enterprise’s PDH project is an example of the rebirth of the US petrochemical industry on the back of growing natural gas liquids (NGL) volumes extracted from shale gas.By: Stefan Baumgarten+1 713 525 2653
