SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hubei Kehai Technology Chemical Industry has shut its 300,000 tonne/year monoammonium phosphate (MAP) unit at Zhongxiang in Hubei province on 9 July due to seasonal weak demand, a company source said on Tuesday.

The company has no specific schedule to restart the unit till demand improves, the source added.

The unit’s turnaround is expected to reduce MAP average operating rates in Hubei, a market player said.

The MAP units were operating at an average 60-70% of capacity in Hubei on 10 July, a decrease of 10-20% from four weeks ago, according to data from Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
