LONDON (ICIS)--European July epoxy resins contract prices have fallen by €90-100/tonne ($111-123/tonne) because of lower feedstock epichlorohydrin (ECH) and bisphenol A (BPA) costs and weaker demand, several sources said on Tuesday.
The price of liquid epoxy resins (LER) is €2,410-2,450/tonne free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE), a drop of €90-100/tonne from June, while the price of solid epoxy resins (SER) is €2,420-2,500/tonne FD NWE, a drop of €100/tonne from June.
Most buyers said they have achieved the price they asked for, because producers were keen to maintain sales volumes and to keep cheap imports out of ?xml:namespace>
Producers complained that buyers are placing orders at the last minute, as and when needed, and this is making forecasting for longer periods difficult.
