HOUSTON (ICIS)--Expandable polystyrene (EPS) producer NOVA Chemicals started a turnaround this week at its Monaca plant in Pennsylvania, a company spokesman said on Tuesday.
The turnaround began on 9 July and is expected to last for 10-11 days, the spokesman said.
Market participants said they do not expect the event to have any significant impact on the market, adding that July tends to be a slower demand month for EPS.
One buyer said there was plenty of material available from other domestic producers, as well as imports from Asia.
The plant has a capacity of about 81,500 tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants and projects.
