MELBOURNE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Korea Alcohol Industrial is planning to shut its 85,000 tonne/year ethyl acetate (etac)/butyl acetate (butac) swing plant in Ulsan in October for annual maintenance, a company official said on Wednesday.

“The shutdown is likely to be carried out in early October, although we have not finalised the schedule yet,” the official said.

The plant overhaul will take between seven to 10 days to complete, the official added.

Korea Alcohol is South Korea’s sole producer of etac and butac.
