SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Two global producers have raised their offers for metallocene linear low density polyethylene (MLLDPE) to China this week by $40-50/tonne on the back of improved market sentiment, local distributors said on Wednesday.

One of the producers increased its offer for hexene-based MLLDPE to $1,440/tonne CFR (cost and freight) China for July shipment, $40/tonne higher from last week, the distributors said.

But the producer has very limited supply to offer at this price, they added.

The other global producer hiked its offer for octene-based MLLDPE by $50/tonne to $1,450/tonne CFR China for end-July/early August shipment, the distributors said.

Discussions for the octene-based MLLDPE were ongoing, they added.

Market sentiment turned rosy following strong gains in the spot prices of butene-based LLDPE prices.

Butene-based LLDPE prices rose to $1,220-1,290/tonne CFR China in the week ended 6 July, up $20-60/tonne from the previous week, according to ICIS.
