Train carrying ethanol derails, catches fire in Ohio – report

HOUSTON (ICIS)--A freight train carrying ethanol derailed and caught fire in Columbus, Ohio, on Wednesday, a news service reported on Wednesday.

Residents living within a one-mile (1.6-km) area of the train were evacuated. The flames from the fire could be seen for miles, Reuters reported.

According to the report, a spokesman for train company, Norfolk Southern, said the train was travelling to North Carolina from Chicago.

He said the cause of the derailment was unknown and under investigation, Reuters reported.
