US propylene stocks rise 1%, refinery rates at 92.7%

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US propylene inventories rose by 1% in the first week of July along with a small increase in operating rates at US refineries, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.

Propylene inventories were at 4.188m bbl in the week that ended on 6 July, up from 4.147m bbl a week earlier, the government reported.

US refineries operated at 92.7% of capacity last week, up from 92.0% a week earlier, according to the EIA.

Refinery-grade propylene (RGP) for July was bid at 33.50 cents/lb ($739/tonne, €606/tonne) on Wednesday with no offers. RGP was last heard traded at 37 cents/lb on Tuesday.
