US ethanol stocks and production rates start July lower

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethanol inventories and production fell in the first week of July, according to Energy Information Administration (EIA) data released on Wednesday.

Ethanol inventories for the week that ended on 6 July were at 19.5m bbl, down by 800,000 bbl/day or 3.9% from 20.3m bbl a week earlier.

The decline also marked the third consecutive week that ethanol inventories have come down.

Ethanol production was at 821,000 bbl/day for the week, down by 36,000 bbl/day or 4.2% from 857,000 bbl/day the previous week.
