SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) has settled its June butadiene (BD) contract at $1,847/tonne (€1,515/tonne), down by $291/tonne from the previous month, a company source said on Thursday.

Its May BD contract was settled at $2,138/tonne pipeline delivered (DEL).

BD spot prices fell in June because demand tapered off as several downstream synthetic rubber and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) producers were running their plants at reduced rates of capacities, industry sources said.

FPCC’s monthly BD contract price is settled on a retroactive basis.
