China’s Shikefeng Chemical trial-runs phosphorus fertilizer unit

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shikefeng Chemical Industry is conducting trial runs at its 1m tonne/year phosphorus fertilizer unit at Leibo in Sichuan province after starting it up on 6 July, a company source said on Thursday.

The plant is Phase 1 of its yuan (CNY) 1.36 bn ($214m) project, the source said. The exact operating rate of the unit was not immediately available.

Construction of the whole project started in 18 November 2009 and is expected to be completed in 2013, the source said. 

The company will build a 200,000 tonne/year synthetic ammonia unit and an 800,000 tonne/year sulphuric acid unit in Phase 2, the source added.

Shikefeng Chemical Industry is a subsidiary of Shandong Xianglong Group.
