SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Yangzi Petrochemical plans to shut its 200,000 tonne/year linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) unit in Nanjing, Jiangsu province in the middle of July for maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

The turnaround will last for about two weeks.

Meanwhile, the company’s other 260,000 tonne/year HDPE unit and its 400,000 tonne/year PP unit at the same site will keep running during the maintenance period, the source added.

Local distributors said the shutdown may decrease the supply of LLDPE as Yangzi Petrochemical is one of the major producers in east China.
