HOUSTON (ICIS)--INEOS started maintenance at its Chocolate Bayou 2 cracker in Texas on Friday, the company said in a public filing, adding that it would cut rates at the unit to minimise emissions.

The cracker, which just recently resumed operations after a two-month turnaround, has 885,000 tonnes/year of ethylene capacity.

INEOS did not say how long the procedure would last.

The company does not comment on its operations, according to a spokesperson.

INEOS has a second cracker in Chocolate Bayou with 907,000 tonnes/year of capacity.
