SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Nantong Xingchen Synthetic Material plans to shut down its 70,000 tonne/year polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) plant in Jiangsu province for maintenance in the second half of August, a company source said late on Tuesday.

The plant will remain off line for about 20 to 30 days, the source added.

The company is running the plant at 80-90% of capacity, the source said.

Natural-grade PBT is compounded with other addictives and used mainly in the electronic industry.
