SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Dongma Oils & Fats (Zhangjiagang) Co will shut its 120,000 tonne/year fatty acids unit at Zhangjiagang City in Jiangsu province on 15August for annual technical maintenance that will last for half a month, a company source said on Wednesday.

The shutdown will have some impact on the fatty acid market as supply will fall, which will lend some support to a price uptrend, traders said.

The prices of fatty acids were assessed as yuan (CNY) 8,700/tonne ($1,366/tonne) ex-tank east China on 17 July, up by CNY300/tonne from 13 June, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.

($1 = CNY6.37)
