US ethanol production drops 2.3%; inventories steady

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethanol production fell by 2.3% in the second week of July, while inventories were mostly steady, data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed on Wednesday.

Fuel ethanol production averaged 802,000 bbl/day for the week that ended on 13 July, down from 821,000 bbl/day a week earlier.

Ethanol inventories stood at 19.56m bbl that week, slightly up from 19.53m bbl in the previous week, according to EIA data.
