SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Qilu Petrochemical shut down its 80,000tonne/year acrylonitrile (ACN) plant at Zibo in Shandong province as scheduled on Friday for maintenance, a company source said.

The plant will remain shut for 15 days and the company will lose about 3,000 tonnes of ACN production during the turnaround period, the source added.

Meanwhile, its downstream 54,000 tonne/year acrylic fibre (AF) plant at the same site is operating at 50% of capacity since early June, the source said.
