Japan June MMA inventory rises 5.6% from May - JPCA

BRISBANE (ICIS)--Japan’s methyl methacrylate (MMA) inventories in June increased by 5.6% month on month in spite of production cuts implemented during the month, an industry association said on Friday.

As at end-June, the country’s MMA inventories stood at 27,298 tonnes, higher by 1,437 tonnes compared with end-May levels, official data from the Japan Petrochemical Industry Association (JPCA) showed.

The country’s MMA output in June was down by 10,503 tonnes or 20.6% month on month at 40,546 tonnes, JPCA said.

Japan can produce 554,000 tonnes of MMA per annum, according to ICIS data.
