SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Nanjing Xinsheng LNG Sales and Hong Kong-listed Towngas will form a joint venture next month in Jiangsu province for the distribution of liquefied natural gas (LNG), a source from Nanjing Xinsheng said on Friday.

The joint venture will be largely involved in LNG trading, LNG-refuelling station constructions and LNG utilisation in vehicles, the source said.

LNG volumes will be supplied by the 1.35m cubic metre/day plant at Ordos in Inner Mongolia that will come on stream in December 2012, the source said.

The plant is owned and operated by Ordos Xinsheng Natural Gas Development, the source said.

Nanjing Xinsheng LNG Sales, a subsidiary of Ordos Xinsheng Natural Gas Development, is mainly engaged in the production, transportation and distribution of LNG, and the assembly of LNG storage tanks and re-gasification units.

Towngas, a member of The Hong Kong and China Gas Co Ltd, is the biggest city gas supplier in China.
