China’s Xingda Group to start up Daqing EPS plant in August

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>China’s Xingda Group plans to start up a new 120,000 tonne/year expandable polystyrene (EPS) plant in mid-August in Daqing, northeast China, a company source confirmed on Friday.
An estimate of yuan (CNY) 120m ($18.8m) has been invested in the project and the construction of the plant, which started from September 2011, is almost complete now, the source added.
Xingda Group currently has five domestic EPS plants, including one 450,000 tonne/year plant, one 240,000 tonne/year plant and one 120,000 tonne/year plant, all in eastern China’s Jiangsu province, one 180,000 tonne/year plant in southern China’s Guangdong province, and one 80,000 tonne/year plant in northwest China’s Xinjiang province, according to an official source from Xingda Group.
