China’s melamine plant officials face sentence for deadly explosion

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong provincial government will soon sentence three former supervisors of Xintai Liaherd Chemical following the deadly explosion at their melamine plant which killed 15 workers last year, a local government statement said on Friday.

The explosion at the 30,000 tonne/year melamine plant took place on 20 November last year also injured four workers, according to previous report from ICIS.

The three supervisors have already been sent to local judicial authority, the statement said but did not provide any more details.

Shandong Xintai Liaherd Chemical is a wholly subsidiary of Shandong Liaherd Chemical, located at Taian city of Shandong province.
