SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Shanghai Gaoqiao Co plans to shut down its 100,000 tonne/year phenol/acetone unit from 1 August for three to four weeks, a company source said on Monday.

This unit, which is located at Pudong in Shanghai, will be shut down because of lack of feedstock cumene, according to the source.

The company also has a 60,000 tonne/year phenol/acetone unit at the same site, which is running at full capacity.

Sinopec Shanghai Gaoqiao Co has a third phenol/acetone unit with capacity of 200,000 tonnes/year at Shanghai Chemical Industry Park in Caojing, which is operating at full capacity as well.
