China’s ethylene output in June drops 3.0% year on year

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s ethylene output dropped by 3.0% year on year in June, while its January-June output fell by 3.3% compared with the same period a year ago, data from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) showed on Monday.

The country produced 1.18m tonnes of ethylene and 7.58m tonnes in the January-June period, according to the data.

Its crude oil output in June fell by 0.1%, compared with the same period last year, to 16.5m tonnes, while its January-June output rose by 1.6% year on year, the data showed.

China’s naphtha output decreased by 8.4% year on year to 2.2m tonnes in June, while its January-June output fell by 0.5% year on year to 14.7m tonnes, according to the data.
