TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan’s Toyo Engineering India (Toyo-India) has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by BASF India to build a multi-business chemical production site in Gujarat, its parent company Toyo Engineering said in a statement on Tuesday.

The new production site at Dahej, Gujarat, which is expected to come on stream in 2014, will be an integrated hub for polyurethane manufacturing, Tokyo-based Toyo said.

The chemical complex will also house production facilities for care chemicals and polymer dispersions for coatings and paper, Toyo added.

Engineering firm Toyo-India will execute the project under an EPC turnkey contract at lump sum price, the firm said but did not disclose financial details.
