SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s Futai Glycerine will shut down its 15,000 tonne/year crude glycerine refinery plant at Qingyuan city in south China on 10 August, a company source said on Wednesday.

“We plan to shut down the plant for technical maintenance from 10 August,” the source said in Mandarin.

The shutdown will provide workers a holiday and escape from the hot summer days though the facility will remain off line for just a week, the source added.

This short shut down would have little impact on the 95% and 99.5% glycerine market in light of slightly high stock level, traders said.
