HOUSTON (ICIS)--US butadiene (BD) production in June totalled 235m lb (106,594 tonnes), an 11.7% drop from 266m lb produced in the same month in 2011, 23Jacobs Consultancy said on Wednesday.
However, BD production in June rose by 5.4% by volume compared with 223m lb in May, while climbing by 9.0% if output is measured on a daily rate, the group said in its monthly Hodson report.
BD production increased in June, compared with May, because of a heavier feedslate last month, particularly naphtha, the consulting firm said.
US crackers operated at 87.1% of capacity in June, up from a revised 86.4% in May, but down from 91.4% in June 2011, the report showed.
