Taiwan’s Ming Dih eyes Kaohsiung EPS expansion in H2 2013

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>Taiwan’s Ming Dih Group may expand its expandable polystyrene (EPS) facility in Kaohsiung in the second half of next year, a company source said on Thursday.
“We are currently studying the plan and the final decision will depend on market conditions,” the source said.
The facility in southern Taiwan can produce up to 180,000 tonnes/year of EPS.
“The expansion, if it does go ahead, will comprise of adding at least 30,000 tonnes per year of capacity,” the source said.
Ming Dih also operates a 100,000 tonne/year EPS unit in south China, and a 30,000 tonne/year plant in Thailand.
