SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Tokuyama Corp restarted its 330,000 tonne/year vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) facility at Tokuyama in Yamaguchi prefecture on schedule on Thursday, said a company source.

The plant had been down since early May because of technical problems.

Tokuyama’s VCM unit is currently operating at around 80% following the restart and the producer plans to ramp up the run rate to 90% next week, added the source.

The plant’s operating rate is then expected to be maintained at 90% for the next two months, said the source.
