SINGAPORE (ICIS)--US’ Huntsman Corp said late on Thursday it opened its new polyurethanes (PU) systems house in Indonesia.

The PU systems house built at Huntsman’s Gandaria site is designed to produce pre-polymer and polyol blends for the Indonesian methyl di-p-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) systems market, the company said in a statement, without disclosing investment details.

The system house has a fully equipped technical laboratory to test and develop new products, Huntsman said.

The company’s Gandaria site is located about 25 kilometres from Indonesia’s capital of Jakarta.

"The new systems house reflects our long-term commitment to the local market and it enables us to significantly improve our support to the growth of our customers and the market,” said Vincent Wang, vice president for Asia Pacific at Huntsman’s PU division.
