Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical plans to restart MA line on 1 August

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japans’s Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation is planning to restart its 30,000 tonnes/year maleic anhydride (MA) unit in Okayama on 1 August after a scheduled turnaround, a company source on Friday.

The unit was shut in the middle of June for a turnaround with sufficient inventory to continue supply to its buyers, the source said.

The turnaround was prolonged because demand for MA for low, the source added.

The plant produces liquid maleic anhydride and mainly caters to the domestic market.
