SINGAPORE (ICIS)--India's IG Petrochemicals is targeting to start operations at a third phthalic anhydride (PA) line, with a 50,000 tonne/year capacity, at Taloja in March 2013, a company source said on Monday.

The new line in India’s western state of Maharashtra would require an additional 4,000 tonnes/month of feedstock orthoxylene (OX), which would be purchased from the spot market, the source said.

PA produced from the new line would mainly be exported to Europe, southeast Asia and China, the source said.

IG Petrochemical currently operates a 65,000 tonne/year and a 55,000 tonne/year PA lines at Taloja.
