Taiwan’s FCFC to restart Mailiao No 2 aromatics unit on 8 August

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Chemicals and Fibre Corp (FCFC) plans to restart its No 2 aromatics unit in Mailiao on 8 August after halting operations for more than a month, a company source said on Monday.

The unit, which was shut down on 20 June after a power outage, has a nameplate paraxylene (PX) capacity of around 580,000 tonnes/ year.

FCFC runs two other aromatics facilities in Mailiao with a combined PX nameplate capacity of 1.2 tonnes/ year.
