SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yunnan Yuntianhua Chemical shut down its 20,000 tonne/year polyoxymethylene (POM) line at Chongqing city in central China on 30 July, a company source said on Tuesday.
The source did not specify a restart date for the plant or the reason for the shutdown.
The shutdown will have little impact on the POM market in light of high inventories amid weak downstream demand, a local distributor said.
The company has two other 20,000 tonne/year POM lines at the same site, both of which are running at full capacity, the company source added.
Another 30,000 tonne/year POM line in Yunnan province is continuing to run at full capacity, according to the company source.
