SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Lanzhou Petrochemical restarted its 160,000 tonne/year benzene unit at Lanzhou in Gansu province on August 1 after completing maintenance at the unit, a company source said on Wednesday.

“The unit was shut down on plan since the beginning of July,” the source said.

Production loss from the shutdown is estimated at around 19,000 tonnes of benzene, the source said.

In 2011, the unit produced 144,000 tonnes of benzene, the source from Lanzhou Petrochemical said.
