LONDON (ICIS)--The August European acetone methyl methacrylate (MMA) contract price has been agreed up by €90/tonne from the previous month, following the €120/tonne increase in August propylene, market sources said on Thursday.
The August acetone MMA settlement was agreed at €868/tonne ($1,059/tonne) on a free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE) basis.
A major consumer said: “I can confirm €868/tonne FD NWE, which is based on the recent C3 development.”
About a third of the world's acetone is used as a solvent, and a quarter is consumed as acetone cyanohydrin, a precursor to MMA.
