SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Yongsan Chemicals Inc will shut its 38,000 tonne/year maleic anhydride (MA) plant in Ulsan for scheduled maintenance in mid-October, an industry source said on Friday.

The company is currently building up stocks ahead of the turnaround that will last 25-30 days, the source said.

Supply to local and export customers will continue during the plant’s shutdown, but at reduced volumes, the source added.

The company supplies mostly molten-type MA from butane feedstock.
