LONDON (ICIS)--European bisphenol A (BPA) freely negotiated contract prices rolled over from July to August due to weak demand and because activity will be limited during the month, sources said on Friday.
August contract prices are €1,520-1,570/tonne ($1,853-1,914/tonne) FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe).
Many BPA producers and buyers agreed that the raw material cost increases would have been difficult to pass on in August because many derivative producers are shut down for several weeks.
Significant increases are expected from the second half of August or from the beginning of September, as a result of the recent feedstock cost rises.
