SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hanergy Holdings Group plans to build a 2,000 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic project in Xinhe county, Xinjiang autonomous region, a source close to the company said on Monday.
The project will be constructed in four phases and represents a total investment of yuan (CNY) 30bn ($4.71bn).
Construction of the first phase, which has a capacity of 20MW, will start in the third quarter of this year, the source said without providing a specific date.
Hanergy will invest CNY300m for the construction of the first phase, the source added.
