HOUSTON (ICIS)--Valero has begun the process of restarting some downstream units at its Meraux refinery in Louisiana after a fire occured in the crude unit at the end of July, a company spokesman said on Monday.
The 135,000 bbl/day refinery is expected to be back at planned rates at the end of August, Valero spokesman Bill Day said.
He added that the company will not identify each unit as it comes up, but does expect the crude unit to restart by the end of the month.
All units at the Meraux refinery have been shut since the fire on 22 July.Follow Anna on Twitter
